Brahms Requiem by candelight

The Brandenburg Choral Festival is London's biggest and broadest celebration of all things choral. It brings together choirs and vocal ensembles of different shapes and sizes, and from every musical background - classical and jazz, a cappella or accompanied gospel, male voice, choral scholars, community choirs, and a whole lot more besides!

Associate Music Director Suzy Digby brings the 2015 Brandenburg Choral Festival Spring Series to a magnificent close with Voce Chamber Choir performing Brahms' masterpiece German Requiem.

1)  The first half of the concert will feature Voce Chamber choir (conductor Suzi Digby OBE) performing four unaccompanied choral works written by Schumann.  Schumann was a friend of Brahms and in between each piece an exchange of letters between the two composers will be read out.  The first half of the concert will last approx. 25 minutes and will be followed by an interval of around 20 minutes.

2)  The second half of the concert will feature Voce Chamber choir performing Brahms' Requiem.  Brahms originally wrote the Requiem for a piano duet and for this performance the choir will be accompanied by piano duo Sue Graham Smith and Daniel Hill.  This second half will last an hour.
